You can certainly keep it going on the windowsill as a houseplant through the winter. A lot of times people find that the plant goes into winter dormancy on its own due to decreasing day length. So it could die back on the windowsill this winter, then bloom and put up new growth in the spring. If it does start to die back, reduce watering so the bulb doesn't rot. It will bloom later than it would if you had forced the dormancy right now. The worst that will happen if that you won't get blooms next year, but the bulb should be fine.
