Just saw this... good question! I'm trying to figure out best placement for a bat house also, but mine will probably be high up a tree... didn't consider the predator angle with that, though. Hmm.

I wouldn't think the 2 lower roofs would bother them. After all, they use tree hollows, whether or not the trees have a few lower branches, right?
