I don't buy plants online. My most expensive is a seed grown multipetal I found at HD, 3 inches width caudex, for $39. My single petal seedgrown are $10 to $25. All my grafted are $25 or below.

Maybe you are buying from a non-US seller so the shipping is expensive? I have seen some reasonably priced $25 below at Etsy with free shipping.

Others will add "rare" on their descriptions and will charge a lot of money for grafted ones! If it is grafted they are not rare. It only takes a one each cutting to propagate a supposedly "rare" variety. Therefore the rare grafted probably has a 1,000+ siblings. If they are seed grown "rare" blooming size, I am willing to pay a little bit more…because you have a unique plant (aka mother plant).

I love pink so I collect any shades of desert rose pink I can find Lovey dubby I like multi petals too but for seed propagations single petal can Produce seedpods easier.
