Yes. Aloe ferox here and marlothii elsewhere. Aloe africana is really good for that, and the pot doesn't have to be huge at all.

Obviously they are compromised, and obviously they are going to get bigger and be more impressive in the ground. It's not like they're going to get tall in containers. At some point they will most definitely peter out and give up. So we're not talking about the same experience as landscape trees. I passed on a couple of the tree aloe seedlings I grew to a friend who was less diligent than myself about bumping things up a size now and then, and I found out they can go a lot longer in containers than I would have otherwise thought possible.
