I was not going to reply to this one, but... as the person who started a thread looking for the identity of what has turned out to (likely) be Peggy Jeffcoat ... and which I have ordered for this year for my own gardens, I have to say that despite the many comments on this being a short daylily ... It was the intense fragrance that stopped me in my tracks and drew me to locate the beautiful hose in hose double at the Parker F Scripture Botanical Gardens in Oneida County, NY this past year.
Following an intense pursuit to ID the plant (and Peggy Jeffcoat, according to Cornell, is the only daylily planted in that area of the gardens that could possibly be the daylily I took pictures of), I give massive credit to the daylily forum and many responses in identifying this gorgeous plant.
As doubles go ... hose in hose is not common. When you search the AHS database for hose in hose, only 43 daylilies come up. Peggy Jeffcoat is the only one in this colour range - a blush peach colour that is gorgeous.
By the time you add in that show-stopping fragrance, what's not to love?
She's arriving this spring for my own gardens, but based on the prolific blooms and abundant foliage I saw in the public garden display, I can't imagine too many gardeners would not have place with her name on it!
