I am fascinated with pawpaws. When I was in grad school I worked in archives and special collections and one big collection I worked on was a man originally from Virginia who moved out to Washington to work with the Yakima indians. He used to have family back home send him boxes of pawpaws. They must be a fruit that lasts well because in the 1800's those pawpaws had to go by train and wagon! Have never had a chance to try one.
