When looking at any pic in the database, there are some links at the bottom. One of the choices is "Propose this image be deleted". I do this all the time when I take a better pic that is basically the same as a previous pic. When you click the link, there is a box to type why you are asking. I always just put something like, "my pic, thank you" and that does the trick. Best luck!
