I have also read that about the comfrey and possible liver damage . I have feed it to my goats for 8+ years and they seem happy and healthy , of course they get it in limited quantities and have plenty of other choices.

I think it is a very good addition to gardening especially if you are growing chemical free.
..a balanced life is worth pursuit.
