bsharf said: Hi, welcome to the forum. I occasionally see this on the leaves of my older bulbs. It is too early to tell if this is some sort of environmental effect, a disease, or possible insect damage. Several viruses can cause spotting on the leaves. I just did a search for virus diseases on Amaryllis. Found information but no decent photos of documented virus damage. The general consensus is that the viruses come in from sucking insects. Sadly, it is not uncommon that newly purchased bulbs are already infected. Some insects can also cause damage with this patterning. I certainly won't discard the bulb at this point. New leaves might be fine. Is the whole leaf affected or just a portion of the leaf, which would suggest a targeted insect attack. Did you get this bulb this season or is it one that you had for several years? There are several people, who were active on this forum about six years, who know a lot more about this than do I. Perhaps if one of them sees this posting, they will chime in with their expertise.

Hi, just noticed your comment and I just thought I would reply with some more information: It currently only affects parts of the leaves, isn't spreading, and I got the bulb last year after Christmas from a local nursery.

Update: Found two small lesions on the leaves of my Amaryllis plant. They seem to be directly attached to the plant, and I'm not sure of what they are. I would also like to add that I've also searched up a few diseases of Amaryllis, and none of they have the same symptoms as my plant. I did plant it late this year though, although I'm not sure whether or not that would have an effect on the plant's health.
