Hi,
I'm not at all experienced in design but I have a shady bed roughly 10'x40' to fill. I am thinking of using actaea/cimifuga 'Hillside Black Beauty' to create a high center soft zig zag all the way down the bed to create a sense of movement. 'Hillside Black Beauty' is about 5 feet long. That would be the length of one segment of the zig zag. /\/\/\

In the V's created by the zig zag I'm looking at putting taller plants like rocket larkspur, cosmos, columbine, foxglove, etc. and then shorter in front of them with other bloomers and finally a border of Alchemilla mollis (Lady's Mantle). It's a nice bright green. The room groupings could be repeated to bring in continuity.

Overall I'd have a high, dark wavy center line with plant groupings or "rooms" in the v's of that line and then a bright green border. One side of the bed has a straight edge as it's along my driveway but the other will be an organic flowing shape. I'm going to do all of the flowers in the bed in blue, pink or white.

What do you think? Thank you in advance for your feedback. Thank You!
