I spoke with Richard early last year regarding a daylily of his and he told me of his wife's health issues. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. I'd had dealings with him years ago also, and it was obvious that his wife (who answered the phone a couple of times) was a help to him in more then one way.............In 2013 on this post I spoke of Mary's Baby and just want to say I still have her and think she's one of his best. In fact I told him she ought to have been nominated for a Stout Award and I still feel that way. If you haven't tried her you might want to give her a whirl, particularly if heat is an issue:
