if you look over in the orchid supply area where the potting mix is there is usually different mixes for different orchids and plain bark in a bag and plain charcoal in orchid potting bags also i have found its is harder to fine that.

It is not brickets for cook outs and not with lighter fluid for sure you might be able to fine LUMP hard wood charcoal for grilling bUT you will need to smash in smaller pieces and rinse it off

here is their website and dont see just the charcoal but if you look at whats in the mix it saids

Contains a rich mixture of western fir bark, hardwood charcoal, and sponge rock to ensure healthy and long-lasting plants

so i say hardwood charcoal sense that is what is in the orchid mix

think that what in going to do is a bag and break in to small pieces and rinse and not use the powder just the small ones
