Thank you for the responses and detailed identification information from BigBill. I'm not a bird watcher yet, but love to photograph them when I get lucky enough to be fast enough with the camera.
I am located in Zone 5, close to the Palos (IL) Fen Nature Preserve and that's where I think the unusual visitors come from.
