We had three healthy trees beside our house last year. The one on the left of the picture is still healthy. The middle one not so much. There was one on the right that died. The sharp eyes of my wife noted these growths on the dead tree which at first we thought might be a normal "cone" growth on the tree. But when she found one stuck to the siding of our house, there was no good reason for that. Does anyone recognize what these potentially tree-killer growths are? Pest, fungus, etc? Thanks for any direction you can give to identify the culprit.
