I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
bagworms, they don't typically kill a tree though-at least not very quickly. They can strip the leaves-eating them. But they usually grow back out the next spring. The issue is if it happens several years in a row, it can then deplete/stress the tree killing it.
