I mostly propagate to make more plants from the ones i already have. Either because after a few years they get tired/leggy/too big or to have multiples for difficult ones that might die on me in winter while i am away in FL .
I am currently sitting in Miami FL watching Ian's progress (we'll prolly reschedule our Wed flight to Fri) and am busily cutting to take some back to NJ (the sickly ones that might die on me soon). I might experiment and leave a few just sprouting seeds on wicks and some fresh cuttings in water that will grow better in FL over winter.
Out of 70 plants i have here only 4-6 are original bought plants. The rest if my forest was propagated😁. Too many to post here: from tiny cups to 5' monsters.
Most i brought as cuttings just before lock-down as we were thinking of relocating to FL. Still thinking, still not sure, so i am maintaining 2 plant locations and hoping to have enough surviving by the time we make a decision where to land..
