While it may not be living "free range" keep in mind that (from what i just read) it will leave the tiniest little "bulblets" behind. And the seeds are like dust and get on clothing as another mode of spread. No wonder Florida is being over run with it!

I would get rid of it! Maybe enjoy it for a couple of weeks then pour a few pots of boiling water through it to kill bulblets. But if it makes seed in that time (since it is blooming) it likely has or will get on clothing etc. Honestly, this plants acts like an invader from outer space!
