I know that we have discussed how some Adenium multi-petaled flowers are the result of anthers becoming extra petals and that these flowers often have no pollen. Take a good look at this flower. The extra petals clearly show the remnants of the anther tails at the tips of the petals.
The first row of petals do not have this small fuzzy appendage.

This flower should appear much darker (more black) but I took this photo back in July and the full sun got to it before I could move it into less light. Dark flowers like this get chalky looking in full sun.
