The swallows while raising a family, though, can eat mosquitos nearly as fast they hatch. There is a noticeable difference in the numbers of mosquitos after the babies fledge and leave the nest compared to when they are being fed in the nest. I haven't had phoebes since the cold spell in February a couple of years ago.


Wish I could trade you my wrens and phoebe for a pair of barn swallows! Hilarious!
