Some photos show Butter Cream as being lemon yellow, but mine is a softer cream yellow, and one of my favorites. I have had it for at least 10 years or more. It opens well every time, and the big flat flowers last all day without melting. I have to admit that the branching is terrible, with only a split "V" at the very top, and only about 10 buds, but they all come out large and actually for quite a long time considering the low number. It is pod fertile, but not eager to set pods. The plant is firmly dormant and handles the cold without a care, and it does increase very well. I have quite a few seedlings out of it, and I can say that it passes on a lot of the better aspects, as well as hardiness. It makes a great mature clump.
