I thought forsythias were only yellow, I've never seen white ones, so really surprised there are pink ones! And yes, the way they flower before any leafing out reminded me of forsythias too. The only thing different I can see is these are more shrub-like in growth, with many stems coming from the ground. The pink forsythias I've seen pics of seem to have one main stem though, so not 100% sure that's it, but happy I now know they come in pink. I'll have to do some digging.

Edit: I tried enlarging and sharpening to get a better look at the flowers. It's still bad from that distance, but the flowers do look more like forsythia flowers to me.
