Hi @GigiPlumeria sorry for the late reply. My son and DIL came up from Houston to do some yard work for us. The very top in the first photo where you circled is all dried up. I wonder if I should file that top down or cut it an inch or so below, apply cinnamon and let dry? It looks like option 2 will be my best bet.
