The best time to take cuttings of Thuja Green Giants is typically in early summer. Select healthy, semi-hardwood branches and prepare 4- to 6-inch cuttings with at least two sets of leaves. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant them in a well-draining medium, burying at least one-third of the stem. Enclose the cuttings in a plastic bag or propagating container to create a humid environment. Place them in a bright location with indirect sunlight, maintaining a temperature of 70-75°F (21-24°C). Mist the cuttings regularly while avoiding prolonged wetness. Be patient as rooting can take weeks or longer, and transplant them once roots have developed.
