JB, I was referring to the big green bags that are labeled "Miracle Gro Potting Mix," which is what most big box stores have on the shelves. They do make some very good soils for containers; I generally get Whitney's Potting soil, which is also made by Scotts. But I've had abysmal luck with their sort of generic potting mix and I've heard the same from a lot of other people. I've used it in a pinch, but always mixed it with the dreadful potting soil from our local hardware store that doesn't retain ANY water! Hilarious! They sort of cancel one another out. Green Grin!
