I moved a bunch this year too and then realized after I relocated them that the gutter has an issue and is dumping water when it rains, so far they look okay regardless, even though it has tattered the foliage, they look healthy if that makes sense, so this fall I will have to get the gutter fixed before winter. I think the water dumping on top of their crowns over the winter will kill them.
