Taste is normal, but food often doesn't sit well after eating. Also, the hunger trigger is staying off instead of on for whatever reason. I THINK about food, but then balk about eating. Lots of frequent small snacks instead of a real meal. Some things seem better than others - fruit (dried, fresh, canned), eggs (lots of those), nuts, starchy items like potatoes, rice, bread and, once in a while pasta with butter, salt and pepper. Not much alcoholic beverages, lots more milk, less coffee, very little meat. Some cheese. I picked up some cream cheese to try as a spread but haven't tried it. Strange diet for me. It's unpredictable. What I'll attempt and how it settles varies hour to hour, it seems.
The comments here about pumpkin spice makes it one of those foods that a lot people seem to have strong opinions concerning it. Got me to thinking about some of the other foods/flavors that seem to elicit strong opinions. Sardines, liver, horseradish, apparently garlic if you're British royalty, fennel, cardamon, wasabi and others. You can always find someone who doesn't like specific foods, e.g. fish and hot pepper, but those in the list seem to evoke strong reactions on a wider scale. I wonder if some of that is regional and my list is skewed as a result. Many ethnic foods use different spices and foods that are not readily available in my part of the southwest U.S.A., but when I've traveled they are readily available and widely used in other places.
One of the interesting things about this particular forum is the attitude toward food in its various forms and flavors. As you can tell, even if I'm not eating normally, food is still in my mind! That waist line is sure to rebound one of these days
, but the pleasure of eating will be the upside of that
