Years ago, I tried overwintering brugs in their containers, in the basement, and yes -- spider mites. If you don't catch them on day 1 or 2, you can forget it.

Sally (D) says she stores her cuttings until January, then roots them in water and begins up-potting them. She gives them larger containers frequently, so when they are ready to go outside, they are already in a 12-16" container. That's why hers bloom early and often!
