This was new this year. Dale Hensley is known for his work with the color red and some of his are exceptional. Our summer heat is always a factor on color as it is almost always over 90 and often over 100 degrees. The color on Heartless varied. The plant itself was fine for a first year plant but if the color fades or discolors on a daylily in my garden, plant habit will be irrelevant as it will have no future here.
Heartless with a rather dull looking red color:

For me the jury is still out. It was a new plant and often another year or two can make all the difference. It's promising enough to get the time............Maryl
