If the plant was healthy and not 'ragged', after under better care or original care, it would have 5 or 6 leaves and lots of good roots everywhere. I don't see that here.
Fortunately Phalaenopsis respond quite nicely and rapidly to improved care.
There is no better thrill then catching fish using flies that you tied!
