A couple of years ago I was in a webinar led by Doug where he presented the same information and it changed my landscaping ideas so drastically. I'm renting now and I can't do much in the yard right now, but when I have a yard again I will be following these concepts. As it is, I get to design smaller redoes and fill-in plantings and as much as I can I put natives in most of them.
You can join Homegrown National Park and add to the map of native plantings.

Stop the apocalypse!
