Voles have chunky bodies, small ears and short legs. Eyes are tiny. Small ears help to keep them free from entanglements since they live almost entirely under ground in tunnels. Mice have a more slender body, longer legs, larger eyes and ears. Spend most of their time above ground.

The biggest problem between the two unfortunately are common names. Most people tend to lump them all together as mice.
There is no better thrill then catching fish using flies that you tied!
