Thank you ebean for bringing this to my attention. I purchased this fern at the coast of B.C. in the 1980's, and that was the name given at the time. If anyone can identify it as another fern variety, please let me know. I especially loved it, for that elegant extra twist of fern strands at the top of each fern stalk.
I'm not sure what should be done with the 2 photos now. Do they go into a bin of unidentified plants?
We sold our large garden in 2012, and I don't believe the fern would have survived, but this summer I will ask the owner if I could find it, to take some more photos, which could perhaps help in the identification of this fern.
