I just discovered and joined the NGA forum. I am currently using my fifth homemade greenhouse and thought that my experiences may be useful to others. There are lots of YouTube videos available on making greenhouses but that's not for me. Also, YouTube isn't always the best way to provide detailed information.

The reason for homemade is based on the fact that I can't really afford a greenhouse that meets my needs plus I have some mechanical skills that make it possible to consider homemade. The other reason is I'm not able to throw money at problems in order to solve them and have to find other (sometimes unconventional) ways to make things work. I love these kind of challenges - as a farmer's son I know the value and sometimes the necessity of flying by the seat of one's pants to get things done - farmers are of necessity inventors.

I have not taken the time yet to explore the subjects offered here and maybe the following question is already answered somewhere: is there interest here in my giving detailed info on how I made and fitted out my small seasonal greenhouse? It is just shy of 100 sq/ft and I am currently tending nearly 800 seedlings. The heating, cooling and lighting are mostly "automated" with hardware store gadgets and simple wiring. I'm sure my ideas aren't original, just a result of figuring stuff out.
