H. clausa is now the only accepted botanical name. H. clausa var. normalis is a synonym for H. clausa.

H. clausa var. stolonifera is no longer listed even as a synonym, probably because it was reclassified a long time ago. The need for H. clausa var. clausa disappeared when there were no other varieties.
