My pink cap had special meaning. I took a photo of it and tree mailed it to Lynn so she would know how to find me. It worked! But Lynn, did you see that gal with the pink hair? Weird!
I didn't take any photos at the sale because Lynn had a much better camera than my point and shoot which doesn't perform that well indoors. But I did take photos of my loot after I got home.
We really had a great time egging each other on to buy more plants! I'll add that Lynn is great fun to shop with too! This is such a fun sale each year. It is definitely not just a sale of run of the mill nursery plants, but a cornucopia of rare and collectible goodies all under one roof. Altogether around 25 vendors.
From Perennial Obsessions, Sempervivum 'Black Prince' and S. 'Affine'.
From Egan Gardens and Perennial Obsessions respectively, Sedum rupestre and S. lineare 'Lemon Curl'.
Lots and lots of wonderful begonias available. I bought this Begonia grandis:
From Wild Ginger Farm, Dianthus sp - (?D. anatolicus) and Saxifraga paniculata 'Cockscomb'.
The saxifraga is succulent-like with its thickened leaves. Notice the "encrusted" leaves. There are little offsets around the outer edge. Oh I just drooled over this one!
From Out in the Garden Nursery, Lynn also bought this spectacular Euphorbia polychroma 'Bonfire'.
From Highland Heather, Calluna vulgaris 'Fraser's Old Gold':
Edited to add species paniculata to Saxifraga 'Cockscomb'; i. e., Saxifraga paniculata 'Cockscomb'.
