Hi everyone! I am originally from just up across the border from a place called Chilliwack, about an hour east of Vancouver. Moved back to Seattle from Connecticut about 15 years ago now.
We live within Seattle limits but it is an area north of Ballard named North Beach of all things. We've been at this home since August.
I think the gardening will be different but exciting. I will be paying a lot more attention to the shade garden forum and whining in the semp forum about my lack of sun. Our back yard is a slope. Totally unusable..... I think. It needs to stay wild and "knit" the ground so it doesn't end up on the railway tracks. I had no idea how important drainage could be. The last few weeks have had wicked rains, a few "newbies" had not kept up with their storm drains, and there are still deep crevices where the soil washed away. It will be interesting.
My main love is sedum which morphed into semps because they are just so darn amazing and there are so many cool people to teach you about them. I'm plotting my next potting as we speak. I think they will have to stay in pots just to chase the sun.
I have the two dogs in my avatar Shaun (red and white) and Mbali. I still don't know where the camera is after the move, but I will find it and try and take some photos.
