Toni, what about something hardy to zone 6. Could you use that on a south side with heavy mulch? Have you ever used pots and store them.I don't like bringing pots in. I just purchase stuff on sale and let them go.

Just got an email from High Country Gardens and they say it is their 20th anniversary and will give 20% off total order. Preorder20 @ checkout, They have sold their garden centers to American Meadows. Shrug!
