Hetty, do you have the Bromeliad, Billbergia 'Marbled Rainbow'? It is the main one I grow and the hands-down favorite of all who see and/or purchase brromeliads from me. The pictures don't do it justice since they were taken two years ago, using a fairly simple (cheap!) camera. One pic shows the red stalk just forming and this plant is ready to ship.

The purples, reds, and pinks of the flowers are fluorescent and simply beautiful. The leaves are bright green with cream-colored splotches all over the leaf surface. As the leaves age, they turn slightly maroon, making the cream splotches stand out even more.

This is an annual bloomer, spring-early summer, but mine bloom again when I put them in the greenhouse in October-November. Ken
