The verification process is for everyone I believe (buyers/sellers), but I assume most people pass the first step and don't have to do anything then. I was just signing up to buy some seeds I liked, but didn't pass the first step. The seeds I wanted to bid on were gone before I could have gotten through the verification process anyway.
Cats1, that's what I assumed was the initial problem. I only have a cell phone (not even in my name)--no landline. I didn't like how it went from there though. It's okay though... in the end I have more seedlings from my own seeds than I have beds for.
