Ann the plants didn't come to Canada, they went to my friend's place in Pennsylvania. He's actually in a colder zone than me. He lets me plant my daylilies there as I don't have much space also I don't want to pay for certificates. I just bring the seeds back. The one on the left is a bonus plant so I'm not talking about that one, the centre one is a dormant and the one on the right is a semievergreen. I don't know how long they were in transit but along with being shrivelled and yellow there was mould on some of the leaves. They are a good size as you can see they are in a dish pan approx. 8X10. That makes me think they were growing in a greenhouse. I just think that for $50.00 each they would have been in better condition. I understand what your saying about receiving your plants small and having them grow in your garden but I don't like having plants delivered when there is still snow on the ground and the probability of more on the way, they just end up potted and sitting in the cool garage reaching for the light.
