Just for contrast ---
Here is a shot of my seedlings that I took today. The seed was planted in the fall of 2010. That means this will be their 3rd summer. Does not look like any will be big enough to bloom this year. Seedlings in the foreground, and you can see regular size daylilies across the aisle in the background. Please excuse the pink tape around the bed - the new rescue dog is still learning not to walk in the flower beds, and the pink tape keeps her out. I did give the babies a drink of Miracle Grow for Lawns the other day. I'm not able to water them daily, or do a lot of special care. Last summer it was so hot and dry, and grass got going in there. It was over a foot high with grass. I sprayed Grass-be-gone in it and it killed all the grass and didn't seem to harm the daylilies at all. So --- by the time any seedlings bloom at my house - I know the plants are tough! Whistling

They would be this size at 6 weeks old if they lived in Fred's garden...
