This is an old fashioned plant that many of the older people will remember having in their gardens as they were growing up. There are many different sweet shrubs and some do not even have an odor, but the Michael Lindsey does and if you pull one off, stick it in your pocket for a few hours,then take it out and sniff...... " oh my how sweet is this"?
