Are cinnamon sticks--real cinnamon or cassia?

Most cinnamon (powdered and sticks) in the USA is cassia, not true cinnamon. It should be noted that cassia is not a substitute for real cinnamon if consumed in large quantities (for health purposes, for instance). This site has a good differentiation of the two in stick form http://www.indusorganics.com/c...
In short, if the stick has a double roll, than it is cassia.

I know that real cinnamon does curb oomycete fungi, which fortunately, tend to be the "bad" fungi (and the Damping Off group of fungi). Maybe cassia will too. I am not sure. We would never want to kill all fungi! I've not seen any credible info on microbial interaction, although I haven't searched that much. From second hand sites, many (most) authors view and treat microbes and fungi as the same or similar, which they are not! I wonder if the "effects" of cinnamon on microbes are urban legend?
