Ok Ann - Fat floats, muscle doesn't, and for that reason people with very low percentages of body fat are negatively buoyant, and yes, they can still learn to swim. Professional swimmers have very little % of body fat, hence are negatively buoyant, yet they compete in the Olympics, triathlon's etc.

Where you are living now, Ann, sounds idyllic. Something right out of Margaret Mitchell's, "Gone With the Wind". I can visualize this picture with a warm smile. And I am convinced that you have found the only hill in Florida to plant that lovely new daylily garden. The past holds endearing memories, but you have a new home where you will create beautiful new and cherished memories, one step at a time Life is an adventure. Hurray! Hurray!
