They look like teeth to me as well. Pete Harry, who I spoke to recently, told me that blooms with large ruffles around them, can and often develop teeth around the edges. He had the same experience with 'Your Place or Mine' which is not noted in his description of the plant, but occurred later on rebloom and continued thereafter.
