Hm, maybe they would here too, I don't know since I only planted mine under trees, mostly deciduous trees. My Heucheras seem to like it under Japanese Maples, and my Epimediums are doing very well under lilac and Viburnum Burkwoodii. The Heuchera under the Eucalypt is more stunted but that may be water issues. The Epimedium under the Arbutus unedo is not doing well at all though it's surviving, I may move it. I've just put more Epimediums under the apple tree, Japanese Maple and south side of the garage, see how they fare. I'm watching where they spread to, and if they spread out into the sun They will teach me what they can cope with here.
