It sounds like it could indeed be spider mites. This video will show you spider mites at work: http://plantgasm.com/archives/.... Please let us know if the web is the same as you are seeing.

The eggs look like they could possibly be snail eggs. I had a bad infestation of these earlier this year in my potted plants and it looked similar.
