Concerning Ditch Lilies....
Years ago, a very generous online gardener sent me a box full of Ditch Lilies from her yard. She was dividing them. I planted them in several areas of my yard in amended garden beds. For two years they grew, thrived, and bloomed like crazy! They were beautiful. But the third year only about half showed up in the Spring. Each year there were fewer and fewer returning. I still have a couple, but they rarely grow and never bloom anymore. I haven't a clue other than the heat and drought conditions. Being called "ditch" lilies, I assume they need a lot of water? If that is so, that is probably why they didn't make it. My yard tends to be more like drought conditions.
