We had one dog only for many years, and it's more fun having two. Not sure that I really needed 3, but our old dog is getting up there, and our middle dog needed a buddy. So, I think we got the puppy for our dog Bailey, more than anything. Luckily they love each other! Both are Labs. Jackson is very calm, and Bailey is never calm, so they balance each other out nicely! Sorry you lost your other dog. I know the heartache that brings.
