Kelli I think it depends on how severe the weather...I noticed you're in snohomish, so if you are closer to the sound you probably have warmer temps and they're more likely to overwinter.

It is amazing that they smell like chocolate!
I saw this in the Volunteer park conservatory - not chocolate cosmos but very brown almost black flower (have no ID)
